The Crooked Trunk

 

Short learning story in english with moral lesson

 In a dense forest, al trees were straight and tall. Their trunks were broad and strong.

 But there was one tree which had a twisted and a shapeless trunk. All the trees around teased him.

        The tree used to feel low. He would think, ''How deformed I am! I alone have a crooked trunk. I am just useless. 

        One day, a wood-cutter came there with his axe to collect wood. He looked around and thought, '' I will cut all the trees here. They are so tall and uniform. 

I am surely going to earn a lot of money by selling them.'' So, the wood-cutter started off to work. After cutting down a few trees, he came up to the crooked tree. 

With a deep frowning, the woodcutter thought, ''How disfigured this tree is! it is worthless.'' 

So, he chopped down all the trees around except the crooked one. Ever after it, the crooked tree was in awe of its own crookedness.
