The Monkey and The Crocodile

     

Friendship Short Moral Stories 

        Once a monkey lived on a jamun tree near a river. He used to eat sweet jamuns everyday. 

There lived a crocodile in the river. The monkey and the crocodile became friends. The crocodile would visit the monkey every day. 

The monkey used to give him the sweet jamuns from the tree. 

     One day, the crocodile took jamuns for his wife. She liked the sweet jamuns very much. 

After eating the jamuns, she said to her husband,

 ''Imazine how sweet the monkey's heart would be as he eats the jamuns every day.'' 

She expressed her wish to eat the monkey's heart. 

The crocodile denied to fulfill her wish but she was very obstinate. She insisted on bringing on their home. At last, the crocodile had to agree to her obstinacy. 

               Next day, the crocodile went to the monkey and invited to his home for lunch. The monkey happily accepted the invitation. 

He sat on the back of the crocodile and they headed towards his home.

 After reaching the half way, the crocodile told the monkey about her wife's desire to eat his heart.

 The monkey got scared for a few moments, but then he got an idea to escape. 

He said to the crocodile,

 ''Oh my friend! I left my heart on the tree. Let's go back and bring it.''

 The foolish crocodile believed the monkey and brought him back near the tree.

 At once, the clever monkey climbed on to the and escaped.

Moral of the Story: Choose your friends wisely.
