Short Motivational Moral Story |
Once there was mountain climber who had a passion for climbing tall mountains. After many years of preparation and training, he felt he could climb any mountain in the world despite any difficulty.
Once during a climb trip with five other men, he decided that he would reach the mountain summit alone, so that he could reach there first and claim the victory.
When the other people were sleeping at night, he headed towards the summit. As he started his climb, he was very glad as it was a full moon night and the light of the moon helping him find his ways.
His confidence increased as he reached near the summit. But unfortunately, thick clouds started to build around the mountain, visibility deteriorated rapidly and a winter storm started. In just a few minutes, heavy clouds and fog surrounded him.
It was now too late to turn back, so he continued to climb up the mountain.
When he was just a few feet below the top of the mountain, he slipped and started falling at a great speed. He could see only black spots as he was going down.
He kept falling and those moments of great fear, all the good and bad incidents of his life came to his mind. He was now thinking about the approaching death.
When all of a sudden he felt the rope tied to his waist pulled him very hard. Now his body was hanging in the air. Only the rope was holding him. In that moment of helplessness, he had no choice other than to scream it, ''Help me God.''
All of a sudden, a deep voice coming from the sky answered, ''What do you want from me?''
''Save me God''
''Do you really think I can save you?"
''of course, I believe you can.''
''Then cut the rope tied of your waist.''
There was moment of silence. The moment passed and the man decided to hold on to the rope with all his strength.
The next day, the rescue team said the mountain climber was found dead and frozen. His body was hanging from a rope and his hands were holding it tight. He was only one foot away from the ground.
Moral of the Story: We should have enough faith to cut the rope, if god tells us to do so, even when it seems to be the most foolish thing to do.
